Hi all,

Quick question. When running the qmail-scanner (1.21) test script, I recieve mails 1 and 4 OK, and don't recieve emails 2 & 3 (the viruses) - I'm assuming this is down to clam picking them up. However, I also recieve no notification that a virus was recieved. Is it possible to set up the anti-virus to do this?

Also, is it possible to set it up so that the original sender also gets an automated message warning them that they sent a virus? (I'm fully aware of the fact that many email viruses fake sender email address, but I'd like to know if the option is there).

TIA

Hi There,

If you have a look in /var/qmail/bin/qmail-scanner-queue.pl you should see a line that says:

my $NOTIFY_ADDRS=

Enter "admin", "sender", "recips" and "all" or any combo of these, and they will be notified upon a virus being detected.

Cheers,

Adam
