hello everybody,

I have been using qmailrocks for a while now, although it is not 100% working perfect for me (and for sure its my lack of expertise :-) recently I discovered a similar project that looks more promising to what I want it to be able to do.

My question is can I give a link here and list some features I am interested in to discuss if these could be done with qmailrocks as well?

To be honest I haven't tested that other system as it is mainly built for BSD systems and until I finish my testsystem at home to give it a try I won't test it on my live system.

I'd be interested in seeing this other site that you're talking about just to get some idea as to what could be done to enhance the current installation of qmailrocks. :) I like qmailrocks as is, but hey, if there's more that can be done, I'd love to see it! :)

Hi,

I have a setup in place I have tested more than 5 times and it seems to work quite well. The qmailrocks admin knows about this but I have not seen this posted yet. Have a look at

I managed to set up a qmail server for my company a few months back (just before the old coporate mail server crashed, *phew* ) and so, for the benefit of the mass, I have also created a howto, covering the components, steps, problems and resolution that I encountered.

It serves to remind me the procedures I took which I probably may not remember few months down the road. ;-) it's not fully complete though, but soon, I'm arranging my thoughts so that readers will have easy time.

Some of these features I personally encourage all admins to include,
- ssl/tls support for both smtp relay (port 465 / 587) and pop3 (port 995) access
- authentication support for smtp relay over ssl/tls
- if you are serving webmail, enable only https (port 443) connection over the web.
- some practical experience on backup/recovery

Please feel free to drop me comment directly to me either from here or from my website.
