how to enable qmail smtp auth?

I installed qmail using qmailrocks package.
I can send/recieve email by smtp/pop3/imap.
Now, I do not know how to enable smtp-auth work.
I use FreeBSD5.1.
I found the qmailrocks already patch the auth-jms1.4a.
So, I think my qmail-smtpd already support auth, right?
I do everything as the Installation.

the faq says that it supports auth. you can try to send mail wo any username specified and see if it works. if not, you have auth installed :)
