courierpassd error

When i try to use "telnet localhost 106" to test my courier i get an error
when i am writing my password.

The error looks like this;
ERR: authdaemon: s_connect() failed: No such file or directory
500 server error, password not changed.
connection closed by foreign host.

what file does it not found?
i have installed courier-imap, courierpassd and courier-authlib.

echo "/usr/local/lib/courier-authlib" > /etc/ld.so.conf
ldconfig

I have same problem with slackware 11!

and i have added /usr/local/lib/courier-authlib to my ld.so.conf
