I have sucessfully installed qmail on my redhat 9.0 server that I am running from my house through qwest.net DSL.

I have no problems sending or receiving emails, but it seems as though my sent messages are being filtered into bulk mail for hotmail, aol and yahoo (at least, though I think there are more).

This is very frustrating since no one is able to receive any emails sent from my server.

Any suggestions?

The emails are not bouncing, they are just tagged as bulk email. I have tested and verified this by sending emails to my hotmail account.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not totally sure, but you may want to investigate whether the IP address of your mail server is on any SPAM lists on the Internet. Likewise, you may want to check to see if your mail server's hostname is on any SPAM lists.

As qmradmin stated, you might be in a block of addresses that is set as 'spammer'. Qwest has had some problems with that. Also, some of the big companies will filter out anything that doesn't have a correct reverse DNS (meaning that has a relationship to your outgoing email addresses)

Charter, Comcast, Roadrunner, Qwest - all end up with some of the same issues. I was on Qwest for a while, but I didn't have that issue - I was in a business section, rather than a personal section - and in Houston.

Yah my isp is roadrunner and i noticed that when i sent an email to my yahoo account that it was tagged as bulk.

Don't think my ip is on any black lists since i haven't ever really had an email server up before??

edit: Could you elaborate on the reverse dns lookup thingy, cause i don't think im on any black lists. So maybe its the reverse dns lookup.
