Hi,

I am trying to install qmail, and I am using Windows XP. I've downloaded the zip file, but I have absolutely no idea how to install it. I see lots of files, but there doesn't seem to be a nice user-friendly installation file.

And why isn't there a tutorial for windows, when there are tutorials for slackware and solaris? Just wondering why I seem to be the only one trying to install qmail on a windows system.

:-?

It's called MS Exchange if you're going to be installing on a Windows computer. Costs a fair bit too as I recall. Qmail is a linux MTA and won't ever run on Windows. I can just hear Dan swearing over the suggestion it should tool :-)

Ok, things are beginning to make sense now... What about sendmail? can it be installed on winxp? I presume it isn't right?

Do you have any suggestions on open source smtp servers that can be installed on windows? I am trying to get the mail function in php to work... but I dont wish to upset my system too much by installing linux...

Tx...

Sendmail is also for nix systems. Open source and windows are pretty much mutally exclusive. :) Have you looked on google? Also why not just get a spare machine, install linux on it and then qmr?
