i've tried installing qmail on a gentoo machine with grsecurity patches in the kernel.
everything except for smtpd seems to work for me
from the logs i get @4000000040000e682b7a41b4 /usr/local/bin/tcpserver: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: failed to map segment from shared object: Cannot allocate memory
could this be cause of restrictions made by the grsec patches?
i'd rather not reboot the machine.. if it helps if i post more information please let me know what information you need
