Now that i moved from "real" users to virtual users.
How do i use getmail to collect email for my users from their different email servers?
Best would be a sollution that the users could controle them self easly, maybe via squirlmail or some other webinterface (not via shell).
But it has to collect mail 24/7 and not just when the user logs into the webmail interface. Also all the spam/virus detection has to work.
Till now i used getmail in each users home dir.
(i use getmail, because i think it handels "leaving mail on server" better than fetchmail, well thats what i read ;) had no problems so far).

cheers

I am trying to get that plugin to work, but i cant seem to find the "buildfetchmailrc" tool that the install readme talks about.
any ideas?

also are there any other ways of fetching mail for virtual users? it has to fetchmail 24/7 (croned) so not just when the users login to the webmail.

buildfetchmailrc sounds like something that would be in part of the fetchmail installation.

One way to look for it, on most 'modern' linux boxes, is to type in

'locate fetchmail' on your computer. That should list all files with 'fetchmail' in their names.

The squirrelmail fetch plugin works fine for a user to setup to fetch mail from other mail accounts. However, the mail is not put through QMR therefore no spam or virus checking.

Does anyone know how to either setup squirrelmail to use the full features of qmr or: to setup fetchmail or getmail with qmr?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!
