Hello, I have a very concrete question about the installation. I am half way through the installation, even more, may be 70% done. Reached up to SpamAssassin part 15.
But can not continue due to the fact that my server does not receive email.
--------------------------------------------------------------
The problem is that the server can send email but can not receive anything. I have looked at the FAQ and mailing lists as well as the forum, could not find any answer.
-----------------------------------------------------------
When I use telnet to login to port 25 and send message to a local user, it works. When I log into 110 and check the messages for a local user, it shows 1 message and bytes associated with it.
-----------------------------------------------------------
But when I send emails through even local host using `mail` command. They dont reach the destination. In fact the queue is empty when I issue `qmailctl stat` command. (mind you even with telnet session `mail` command says no mail for `xxx`... )
-----------------------------------------------------------
When I use mozilla mail inside the network configured to accept pop, it checks for new messages saying always 0 messages arrived. However I can send messages using both mozilla mail and squirrel and local `mail` command.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Its like the server `eats up` all the incomming messages without adding them to the queue (`qmailctl stat` returns 0 messages in queue). And there are no bounces to the original external / internal sender, meaning message got though..
-----------------------------------------------------------
I am not proceding to further parts since the server behaves in sucha strange pattern ...
System:
System: Linux 2.6.10 Slackware 10.0 (Laptop)
init.d
